| Welcome to The Performance Improvement Toolkit
The Performance Improvement Toolkit (PiT) is an 850 page ‘how to’ manual for
knowledge-based performance improvement. But it is
also an integrated set of training materials, a pocket
guide, presentation packages, training modules and
other resources designed to develop internal capability
in the tools and techniques of organizational and process
performance improvement.
Please look around. If you would like more information on the PiT, give us an
e-mail or a call. We look forward to your comments
and questions.
Why the Performance Improvement
Toolkit?
Why do most improvement efforts fail? How often are beautiful plans created
but never implemented? Why do we seem to face the same
problems year after year?
Performance improvement literature has tended to focus
on the big picture -- the strategy and objectives of
performance improvement. Likewise for corporate training
and development efforts and improvement programs generally
-- long on theory, strategy, models and frameworks,
but all too short on the 'how to'.
This is a problem because where improvement efforts
typically fail is not in the planning but in the doing
-- in the very real business of figuring out what is
going wrong and fixing it.
The Performance Improvement Toolkit is a 'how to' book.
It is about helping teams make improvement happen by
giving them the tools they need to do the job and showing
where, when, and how to use them.
